Warriors Trounce Trojans For Bounce Back Win

After dropping a close contest to Centralia on Thursday, Rochester rebounded with a 68-45 win over Olympic on the road Friday night.

The Warriors finished with two double-figure scorers in Sofie Sand (18 points) and Sadie Knutson (13 points) to bury the Trojans. Sand, in particular, was impressive, with 12 rebounds as well in a double-double effort.

“Sofie was big for us tonight,” Warriors coach Davina Serdahl said. “Not only offensively but defensively as well.”

The Warriors shot under 50% from the free throw line, but showed an improved defensive game that helped them get in a groove offensively on Friday.

“We had well balanced scoring, which was nice to see,” Serdahl said. “We played very unselfishly.”

Rochester will play Black Hills next for a league contest on the road on Wednesday before heading to a tournament in Seaside on Thursday.
