Washington woman accused of attempting to bribe deputy with drugs while detained

A Ferndale woman is accused of attempting to bribe a Whatcom County Sheriff's Office deputy with drugs and threatening deputies after being detained earlier this month.

Police were called after Elisha Erin Rick, 43, and the others refused to leave a relative's home in the 4600 block of Curtis Road on Feb. 10. Rick and the other family members departed before deputies could arrive, but authorities were given a description of the vehicle.

Deputies found and stopped the vehicle and confirmed Rick was in the vehicle. While she was detained, she allegedly offered a deputy drugs in exchange for being released. She also threatened to have the deputies killed if she were arrested, according the the sheriff's office.



Rick was arrested on suspicion of felony harassment, bribery, violating a no-contact order for domestic violence and driving with a suspended license. Her outstanding warrants including indecent exposure to a 14-year-old and violation of a protection order.

She remains in custody at Whatcom County Jail.
