A little lineup swap by the Bearcats fielded similar results by the Bearcats, securing a 5-1 victory over the T-Birds in the Evergreen Conference regular season finale on Wednesday night on senior night.

For the second straight season, W.F. West ran through the league with a perfect record.

Emery Dalrymple and Emma Hamilton switched spots at Nos. 1 and 2 singles and both cruised to straight set wins. It was the same story for Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, where Katelyn Wood and Lilly Hueffed bumped up for the second straight dual and won 6-2, 6-2.

Manta Ceesay and Ellie Mittge continued their dominant campaign by beating Ashlyn Spencer and Rosie Uhlmeyer, Tumwater’s traditional No. 1 doubles tandem, 6-3, 6-1. The T-Birds lone win came at No. 3 doubles by Natalie Montoya Kilmer and Emilea Hopkins triumphed 6-1, 6-3.

Alyana Leal (No. 3 singles) also won in straight sets for the Bearcats. Both teams turn their attention to the postseason that opens with the three-day EvCo Tournament on Monday.

“I feel confident that these girls know what the postseason looks like and have the skillset to play good tennis in the postseason,” W.F. West head coach Megan Wellander said. “We still have to show up and perform.”
