Winlock trailed 2-1 but came back to beat Rainier in five sets, 12-25, 25-20, 16-25, 28-26, 15-12, in 2B volleyball action Thursday night at home.
Brianna Ochoa had five solo blocks and four kills for the Cardinals, while Kindyl Kelly had eight kills and five aces. Lacey Allen added five kills and five aces.
Madison Rohman added 12 kills and 11 aces and played “an all-around amazing game,” according to Cardinal coach Stephanie Styger.
Setter Maddisen Keatley and defensive specialist Charlee Connelly also played outstanding games, Styger added.
“I’m so proud of all my girls. They really brought their game tonight and never stopped fighting,” Styger said. “I can’t wait to see how far we go this season.”
Winlock (1-2) hosted Toledo on Friday.
