Fire crews were able to protect a residence from a structure fire that destroyed a detached garage in the 100 block of Nikula Road in Winlock on Saturday morning, according to information published on social media.
Approximately 12 firefighters from Lewis County Fire Districts 15, 20 and 5 responded to the fire just after 8:20 a.m. on June 5.
Crews determined that the fire was under control at 8:40 a.m.
Units remained on the scene extinguishing hot spots for another hour.
The garage and its contents were deemed a total loss. The Lewis County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
