Winlock Man Killed After Crashing Into Guardrail on Interstate 5 in Centralia

A 34-year-old Winlock man died in a fatal collision at mile marker 81 on Interstate 5 just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle had reportedly been in the left lane on northbound I-5 when the vehicle drifted to the left and the driver overcorrected to the right, losing control and sliding into the guardrail, according to the Washington State Patrol. 

He was pronounced dead at Providence Centralia Hospital. 

The man was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. 



The state patrol is not releasing the victim’s identity pending notification of next-of-kin.
