Woman robbed at gunpoint in Chehalis Thursday morning

A 40-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint in a parking lot within the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue in Chehalis on Thursday morning, according to the Chehalis Police Department. 

Officers responded at about 6:22 a.m. but were unable to locate the suspect. 

The victim reported that a male approached her in the parking lot as she was putting items in her vehicle, pulled a gun, demanded her purse and then took it. 

“The male then fled the area in a vehicle. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect,” the police department stated in a news release. 

No one was injured during the robbery. 



The suspect is described as a tall, skinny, dark-skinned or Black male around 30 years of age with a deep voice. He was wearing a black jacket, a black beanie and a mask. He is believed to be driving a red or maroon Dodge Challenger, according to police. 

The Chehalis Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

“We would like to thank our neighboring agencies for their assistance: Centralia Police Department, Napavine Police Department, and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office,” the department stated in the release. “This incident is still under investigation. No further information is being released at this time.”
