A Longview woman who allegedly threatened to kill a Longview man with a knife at Motel 6 in Centralia on Friday claims she was acting in self defense, according to her defense attorney.

Both Carlee R. Bordallo and Nicholas I. Bordallo were arrested on April 17 after Centralia police responded to the motel on reports of an assault in progress.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing a female, later identified as Carlee Bordallo, “making stabbing motions at the male’s stomach area” and reportedly saying “you know I can kill you,” according to court documents.

When contacted by police, both parties initially denied the altercation, with Carlee Bordallo reportedly claiming that they were “play fighting” and Nicholas Bordallo reportedly saying “he had been attacked by two males who did not like the color of his bandana.” Carlee Bordallo later told police that “she came to town to visit a friend and did not know Nicholas would be here,” according to court documents. “She said Nicholas became angry and started punching her, so she pulled the knife out of her pocket in self-defense.”

Officers later learned that Nicholas Bordallo was in violation of a domestic violence no-contact order that prevented him from coming within 1,000 feet of Carlee Bordallo.

“Frankly, she does not want to have any contact with Nicholas Bordallo,” said defense attorney Rachael Tiller at Carlee Bordallo’s preliminary hearing on April 19. “It was Nicholas Bordallo who broke into her room while she was sleeping.”

Nicholas Bordallo was arrested for violating the no-contact order, and additionally charged for unlawful possession of a firearm after a witness reported seeing Nicholas Bordallo toss a backpack underneath a vehicle before police arrival and officers found two firearms, one near the backpack and one inside. Nicholas Bordallo denied that the backpack was his.

Bail was set at $25,000 secured for both parties and both have separate arraignment hearings scheduled for April 22.
