In loving memory of Sarah “Babe” Etta Morris: 1936-2024

Posted

Sarah “Babe” Etta Morris, of Packwood, Washington, peacefully passed away on Aug. 25, 2024. She was 88 years old. She was one of six kids to Eugene and Isabell Smith. She was born on April 16, 1936, in Eatonville, Washington, at home where she lived until moving to Packwood and meeting the love of her life, Bob.

Babe and Bob would get married on Aug. 3, 1957, in Pierce County, Washington, and have four kids together.

Babe worked for the Forest Service in Packwood for 25 years until she retired. After retiring from the Forest Service, Babe would pick up multiple different crafts that she had a love for, such as crocheting, ceramics, beading, quilting, carving and woodworking. But her favorite crafts were her love for painting with all different types of mediums and scrapbooking with her youngest granddaughter, Kendra.

She loved her grandbabies, especially her great-grandbabies. They were her world and she was over the moon when the great-grandbabies started coming along.

She couldn’t cook worth a darn but boy could she make some killer banana bread. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by sister, Cindy Gonzalez, of Eatonville; daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Mike Jenni, of Olympia, Washington; daughter, Karlita, and her husband, Tim Courser, of Superior, Montana; son, Tim Morris, of Packwood; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she deeply loved.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Morris; her parents, Eugene and Isabell Smith; her son, Jay Morris; sister, Betty Smith; sister, Darlene Smith; sister, Vivian Fuchs; and brother, Bud Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Packwood.

In lieu of sending flowers, please consider making donations to the Packwood Fire Hall in her name. Rest peacefully, Grams. We love you.
