JJ’s ToGo hosts grand opening in downtown Centralia

JJ’s ToGo celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, April 22, in downtown Centralia.

The ceremony, provided by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce, marks a full opening for the restaurant following a soft opening the week of April 15.

The location is the first brick-and-mortar location for the restaurant, which started as a to-go-only business in November 2021.

Owned by Jessica and Devin Britton, JJ’s ToGo moved into restaurant space at 204 N. Tower Ave. that has housed Dawn’s Delectables and Sandwich Shoppe for the last 11 years. That business closed at the end of March, with the Brittons moving JJ’s in on April 1.

“In meeting with and talking to Jessica and her team over the past few months, we are confident that JJ’s ToGo will continue to provide wonderful lunch options for our downtown customers and community,” Dawn’s Delectables owner Dawn Merchant said in the February news release.

“It’s going to make Tower Avenue bigger and better,” Jessica said of JJs’s opening its brick-and-mortar location. “It’ll set the tone to start kind of revamping and livening up this street.”

JJ’s ToGo has brought its staff total up to 18 for the opening of the new location, with many members of the Dawn’s Delectables team staying on.

As of Monday, JJ’s ToGo’s cafe opens at 7 a.m. and the restaurant opens at 10:30 a.m Monday to Saturday. Both sides of the business close at 4 p.m.
