With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, many are getting their final holiday meal preparations finished.
For those facing financial hardships who may not be able to afford a turkey this year, members of Iglesia Cristiana Hogar De Fe in Grand Mound, formerly Ministerios Hogar De Fe, are stepping in to help supply the Thanksgiving birds.
“Iglesia Cristiana Hogar De Fe is giving away 100 turkeys this year,” a church news release stated. “... In the middle of this chaos going on in this world, God has blessed us and we want to bless 100 families with a turkey so they can share and enjoy it with their family. Proverbs 10:22.”
As in previous years the church members have given away turkeys, they purchased the birds from the local Costco.
The turkey giveaway will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, starting at noon at the church, located at 20140 Grand Mound Way SW.
It will end once all the turkeys have been given away.
