Police have made two arrests in the February shooting in Keizer that blew out the windows of a car with two young children in it and seriously injured their father.

Ethan Adrian Armenta-Lagunas, 20, of Salem, and 18-year-old Gabriel “Alex” Javier, also of Salem, were booked into Marion County’s jail on Wednesday on charges of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, criminal mischief and recklessly endangering another person, the Keizer Police Department said in a statement.

The victims in this case — a mother and father, both 28, and their two children, ages 2 and 7 — had just left the In-N-Out Burger’s drive-thru at Keizer Station around 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 9 when a shooter opened fire as the family went through the intersection of Keizer Station Boulevard and Northeast Ulali Drive.

Despite a gunshot wound in his head, the father was able to drive to a fire station for help, police said at the time. Firefighters gave him first-aid before driving him to a hospital.

The names of the father who was wounded and his family have not been released. The man’s condition is not known.

Later, police discovered another person had been hit in the leg during the same shooting.

At about 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Keizer police officers and Salem police SWAT officers served a search warrant on an apartment in Salem, leading to the arrest of Armenta-Lagunas, Keizer police said. Authorities said several guns were found in the apartment.

Later in the day, Keizer police and Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Javier at a separate location in Salem, police said.

Police said they are still searching for a third suspect, 22-year-old Anthony Taylor-Manriquez, of Salem, and added that the public should consider him armed and dangerous.
