Two Redmond children reported missing in December 2023 were found last week in Virginia in the Washington, D.C., area, where their mother allegedly brought them to live under different names after losing custody, officials said.
The woman allegedly brought the children there in secret and hid their names to avoid detection by law enforcement, according to a statement Wednesday from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Redmond police and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children last month had requested the U.S. Marshals Service's help in finding the children.
Members of the federal agency's missing child unit found the children on Sept. 16 and brought them back to their father. The statement did not identify the mother or say whether she has been criminally charged.
