Preliminary results for the Aug. 4 Washington state primary election were released Tuesday night.
The top two finishers in races with three or more candidates in the primary election will move on to the November general election. In races with two candidates, both will automatically move to the general.
Tuesday night's count is the first of several that will be released before the election is certified. Ballots submitted to drop boxes on Tuesday might not be included in the initial count; likewise, ballots that were postmarked by Election Day but have not yet arrived at the Lewis County Auditor's Office are also still to be tallied.
