70th Wedding Anniversary: Robert and Carol Lee Kraemer

Robert “Bob” Kraemer and Carol Lee (Lamb) Kraemer met at a dance at Newaukum Grange in 1948. They were married on Nov. 29, 1952, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chehalis.

Bob spent his entire career of 50 years working for Grange Supply/Cenex in Chehalis. Carol Lee was a homemaker and professional seamstress at their home in Chehalis.

Both Bob and Carol Lee have been active in community service throughout their marriage. They are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Newaukum Grange for 73 years, Lewis County Pomona, Washington state and national granges. The pair was also active in the junior grange camping program at Mayfield Lake Camp.

Bob’s volunteer activities include the Greater Chehalis Food Bank, Washington state grange deputy for Lewis County, Knights of Columbus, coffee stops at rest areas and planning commission.

Carol Lee was instrumental in helping to start the local farmers market where she was also a vendor for at least 36 years along with participating in bazaars. Carol Lee still enjoys sewing and donates handmade sewing projects to local charities. She was a 4-H and junior grange leader and served as junior grange director for the southwest district.

They raised three children who gave them three grandchildren and they also have three great-grandchildren.
