‘A symphony of joy’: Westminster Bell Choir to perform Christmas concerts

Carol Days, of Chehalis, directs the Westminster Bell Choir.

That means attendees to the bell choir’s Christmas concerts might hear “Carol of the Bells” directed by Carol of the bells.

Whether or not they play that classic song, a news release about the upcoming concerts said they were set to be “enchanting” and “a symphony of joy.”

Performances will take place at  7 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 349 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis, and at 7 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Harrison Square Presbyterian Church, 1227 Harrison Ave., Centralia.

The Christmas concerts will be free to attend, but at-will donations are encouraged. Money raised will go toward Guardian Friends of Lewis County, a guardian ad-litem nonprofit founded in 2009 that “strives to bridge financial gaps, ensuring foster children can participate in extracurricular activities,” stated the news release.

The bell choir has performed in Lewis County for more than three decades, according to the release, under the direction of Days.

The Christmas concerts mix “a unique blend of joyous melodies, precision and unparalleled technique … to deliver an unforgettable experience with a diverse set of seasonal musical pieces  guaranteed to resonate with the hearts of all who love Christmas,” the release said.

Seating will be limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
