The Oakville football team turned another back-and-forth game into another win with another strong third quarter Friday, beating Muckleshoot Tribal 50-36 in Auburn.

The Acorns went into halftime down 30-28, but went on a 22-0 run in the third quarter thanks to touchdown passes from Gio Rodas to Koner Burnett, Buddy Roberts and Daniel Rodas.

“Our offensive line gave Gio the most time to throw he has had all year, and other playmakers stepped up to get attention away from Daniel (Rodas),” Oakville coach Skyler Davis said.

Gio Rodas finished his night 9 for 17 for five touchdowns and 212 yards, and also ran for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Daniel Rodas led the receiving corps with 120 yards and three touchdowns.

Michel Perron took a kick to the house for the second straight week, racking up 198 yards on three returns. On defense, he led the way with eight tackles.

Up front, Courtney Price and Jeremy Wilbur both had three tackles for loss, and in the back end, Gio Rodas had seven tackles and Daniel Rodas brought in an interception.

Oakville will wrap up its regular season next Friday at home against Mossyrock.

“I’m very proud of our boys’ responses in the second half each of the last two weeks,” Davis said. “They’ve shown resilience and grit, which is key as we adopt a huge underdog mentality going forward.”
