The Pirates got back on track offensively on Monday night, shooting 44 percent from the field and a couple players drilling multiple 3-pointers in defeating the Chitwins 77-50 on Monday night at home.

In Adna’s penultimate non-league contest, it jumped out to a 23-5 lead after the opening eight minutes and never looked back. The early lead allowed head coach Chris Bannish to go deep into his rotation and play some underclassmen.

Everyone played at least four minutes on the night. McKenna Torrey finished with a team-high 18 points and registered seven dimes to go along with six rebounds. Kamryn Freeman notched 13 points on three 3s while seniors Rhylee Beebe and Ava Humphrey each scored 12.

Tuesday’s C2BL contest versus Mossyrock will be senior night for Beebe and Humphrey.

“We let a lot of kids get time tonight, which they deserve, but we need to be better defensively in the second half,” Bannish said.
