The Adna girls soccer team had the majority of the chances in South Bend on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t until the 72nd minute that Bailey Nailon scored the eventual game-winner in the Pirates’ 1-0 win over Raymond-South Bend.
Nailon scored on a corner kick, which was sent in by Ava Humphrey, who was credited with the assist.
It had only felt like a matter of time, as the Pirates outscored the Ravens 18-2 over the course of the game.
Though Adna was able to escape with the win, Adna coach Patrick Richardson knows that his team has another level to reach.
“We have a lot of room for improvement still,” Richardson said. “We responded better in the second half, at times doing what we should have been doing. We will get back to work and get ready for the next one.”
That next one will come on Monday, when the Pirates (3-5-2, 3-1 C2BL) hit the road to face Ocosta.
