Behind an efficient offense that featured 23 RBIs amongst their 24 at-bats, the Pirates posted 20-plus runs once again in their 25-2, five-inning romp of the Cardinals at home on Monday night.
Only Cash Smith and Aidan Percival recorded multiple hits, but seven different Adna (7-0, 7-0 C2BL) notched multiple RBIs. Cameron Nakano, Evan Hultberg and Naillon Ramirez led the efforts with three apiece.
Six runs in the bottom of the first was the appetizer to the Pirates’ 14-run second as the main course, then the final five runs in the third as the dessert. Their first 12 batters reached base in the second inning.
Adna will open a two-game set with Mossyrock starting on Wednesday. Meanwhile for Winlock (2-6, 2-6), Carter Svenson had the lone hit while Gabe Toms and Cullan Palen-McBee crossed home plate. The Cardinals will take on Morton-White Pass on Wednesday.
