Spurred by a bounty of extra base hits and stout pitching from five different arms, the Pirates capped a 4-0 week with a doubleheader sweep of the Loggers, 15-2 and 13-1, on Saturday afternoon in Onalaska.

In Game 1, it was a 12-run third inning that broke the game open. After six of the first seven batters reached via walk or hit by pitch, senior Cameron Nakano cleared the bases with a double and scored on an error one hitter later.

Nakano finished with two doubles at the plate and earned the win on the mound, going three innings of one-run ball and he notched five strikeouts. Aidan Percival also struck out five while Brody Richards and Talan Guerrero each had two RBIs and scored twice for Adna (6-0, 6-0 C2BL).

For the Loggers in the opener, Rowdy Lyons picked up the first hit of the season with a solo home run in the bottom of the first.

Nakano continued his stellar week with a 3-for-3 day in the nightcap with another double, two runs batted in and three runs scored. The Pirates, who were the designated home team for the second contest, plated six runs in the first, four in the second and three more in the fourth.

Guerrero, Barron Luond and Jackson Bright registered two RBIs each and Adna drew six walks to only three strikeouts in 24 plate appearances. Jack Pennington struck out eight in three innings on the bump. Adna will face Winlock on Monday.

Onalaska (0-5, 0-5) avoided the shutout with a tally in the fifth. Brody Vickers recorded a double and Lyons notched the run and a stolen base. The Loggers will take on Pe Ell/Willapa Valley in a non-league twinbill on Monday.
