The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners is now accepting applications for the 2024 hotel and motel lodging tax fund.
Applications for the funding are due by 3 p.m. on Oct. 6. The funding is a reimbursement grant, and the commissioners will make funding decisions in mid-November.
The entities eligible for the funding include convention and visitors’ bureaus, destination marketing organizations, nonprofits and municipalities. The funding can be spent on multiple types of marketing, expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by municipalities, or the operation of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by nonprofit organizations.
Applicants for the program will give a presentation before the commissioners in a meeting scheduled for Nov. 2. Applicants receive five minutes for a presentation and a nine-minute question and answer period.
