A Tigard man has been arrested after police say he attacked a woman at a Fred Meyer grocery store last month.

Tigard police responded to a call from the grocery store on Southwest 72nd Avenue and Oregon 99W on Sept. 19. An employee told dispatchers a customer was leaving the store when a man punched her in the head twice.

The woman, a 61-year-old Tigard resident, said she did not know the attacker. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation and released.

Police were unable to locate the suspect, who fled the scene on foot, despite a K-9 search. During the investigation, officers identified Isaiah Marquis, 25, as the suspect.

Marquis turned himself in to police on Thursday. He was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, police said.
