A man is facing a felony charge for allegedly destroying a car in Centralia while under the influence of meth.
Jerry Antonio Hernandez Nunez, 31, of Chehalis, is accused of breaking several windows on a gold Buick parked in the 3500 block of Russell Road before getting onto the car’s roof and beating on it, according to charging documents filed in Lewis County Superior Court.
He was allegedly standing on top of the vehicle with knives in his hand, with blood stains on his face and hands, when law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene at about 12:20 a.m. the morning of Jan. 4.
Hernandez Nunez allegedly had a brick of meth on him when he was arrested, according to court documents.
He was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 1:30 a.m., according to jail records. He has since been charged with one count of second-degree malicious mischief, which is a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
Bail is set at $10,000. Arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 8.
