A man accused of kicking in the front door of a Mossyrock residence and attacking the female resident on Sunday is facing burglary and assault charges in Lewis County Superior Court.

Two women were reportedly inside the residence in the 250 block of Court Street when the suspect, Fabian De Jesus Juarez, 22, of Mossyrock, allegedly “kicked the door hard enough to gain entry to the house,” prompting one of the women to flee to a back bedroom, according to court documents.

De Jesus Juarez allegedly chased her to that back bedroom, kicked that door down, grabbed the woman “by her arm and hair and pulled her down,” according to court documents.

An officer with the Morton Police Department responded to the scene and placed De Jesus Juares under arrest. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 2:40 a.m. on June 11 and has since been charged with one count each of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault, both with domestic violence enhancements.

“This is a violent offense and the facts are somewhat alarming. We’re very fortunate this did not end up a worse situation,” Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer said during De Jesus Juarez’s preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Monday, where he asked Judge James Lawler to set bail at $100,000

Lawler opted to set bail at $50,000 due to De Jesus Juarez’s lack of criminal history and financial status, but did grant Meyer’s request for a no-contact order protecting the alleged victim.

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, June 15.
