Of the 10 players that took the court for the Napavine High School boys basketball team, nine ended up in the scorebook and three in double digits to lift them to a 81-51 victory over Mossyrock on Thursday night.

Without the services of starting guard Cal Bullock, the Tigers (10-3, 8-2 C2BL) took control with 50 points in the first half thanks to a nice 69 percent from the field and 7-of-12 from beyond the arc. They proceeded to shoot 61 percent on the night.

Beckett Landram and Tyce Vigre each scored 16 points for Napavine and Eric Bullock chipped in 13. It won the rebounding battle 35-16 and the bench finished with 29 points. Tyler Watson grabbed seven boards, Landram registered five steals and five assists.

For Mossyrock (5-9, 3-8), it attempted to cut in the margin with a 22-point third quarter, but the deficit was too much to overcome. Forward Shaun Fry posted a game-high 21 points and led the Vikings with six boards while Ethan Johnson scored 13 points.

“Unfortunately, again, we didn’t come out ready to match their physicality and it hurt us,” Mossyrock head coach Kelly Ross said. “We showed a lot of heart on the defensive end in the 3rd quarter and were able to get good looks offensively. That is the team we want to be.”

The Vikings will welcome rival Morton-White Pass while Napavine treks to take on Coupeville, both games slated for Saturday.
