The Mossyrock girls basketball team won another Hundred-Mile Rivalry on Monday, besting Naselle 66-40 in Pacific County on a night that featured a few new stars in the show.

Abbie Lovan hit double figures for the third time this season to lead the Vikings (3-3, 2-0 1B CVL) with 14 points, going 4 for 7 from beyond the arc.

In the paint, Chesney Schultz had her best offensive outing yet, adding 13 points.

“She’s been working every game to get stronger down low, and her work is starting to pay off,” coach Autumn Moorcroft said.

Adyson Barrows took a shot at a triple-double, logging 10 points, nine rebounds and 8 steals, while Kendall Cournyer had 10 points and five steals.

Delaney Marshall had nine rebounds, and Renzy Marshall had five steals.

The Vikings held the Comets to just 11 points in the first half and went into halftime up by 27 points after dropping 27 in the second quarter. By the end of the third, the lead had ballooned past 30.

“Things are starting to piece together,” Moorcroft said. “We just need to learn to keep it all together for an entire game. We let up in the fourth tonight, turned it over and fouled too many times. But we are getting better each game.”

Mossyrock will host Ilwaco in a non-league game on Friday.
