Barbara Feigin, a 1955 graduate of W.F. West High School, will be returning to Chehalis to speak in the W.F. West High School library at 6 p.m. Monday, April 24, to discuss her life. The event is open to the public.

Feigin and her family were taken in by Chehalis after escaping Germany as refugees in 1940. She later graduated from Whitman College and Harvard Business School before becoming an advertising executive. Her career in advertising included many campaigns, including the “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk” campaign for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Feigin is a trustee of Whitman College and the chair of the Governance Committee, a member of the Market Research Hall of Fame, and a past chairman of the Advertising Research Foundation.

She authored her memoir, “My American Dream: A Journey From Fascism to Freedom,” after discovering her father’s journals chronicling their journey to the U.S. Today, Feigin lives in New York and is the widowed mother of three adult sons and grandmother of seven.

Refreshments and copies of her book will be available at the April 24 event. For more information, call 360-508-6572 or email jennylyncollins@gmail.com.
