Bearcats cap Swamp Cup sweep with win over Tigers

The W.F. West baseball team polished off a season sweep of Centralia on Friday, defeating the Tigers 13-0 at Fort Borst Park.

Across the three games, the Bearcats outscored the Tigers 43-1.

On Friday, W.F. West scored eight runs in the first two innings before adding four in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Alex Stafford collected three hits, including a triple, and Weston Potter drove in three runs with a sacrifice fly and a two-run double.

Carlos Vallejo, Isaiah Nachatilo-Smetzler, Andrew McMillan, Tucker Land, and Connor Coleman added one RBI each.

Emmett Goodman struck out seven in three innings, allowing just one hit, while Cole Ozretich and Miles Martin also threw a scoreless inning each.

Jake Johnson had Centralia’s lone hit, a triple to lead off the second.

Both teams are back on Tuesday, when W.F. West (13-2, 8-1 2A EvCo) heads to Shelton and Centralia (1-15, 1-9 2A EvCo) hosts Tumwater.
