Bearcats dominate Bobcats for fifth straight win

It was another dominant victory for W.F. West on Friday, as the Bearcats took care of business in a 47-12 win at Aberdeen.

Gage Brumfield continued to make his MVP case, passing for four touchdowns and running for another while tallying nearly 300 yards of total offense.

One of his most impressive throws of the game came just before halftime, when he connected with Tucker Land on a 76-yard touchdown pass deep down the left side. The ball traveled over 40 yards in the air.

The duo also connected on another touchdown, a 21-yard strike, earlier in the quarter.

Land also ran in another touchdown, giving him three on the day, and he finished with 130 total yards.

Beau Guyette also hit paydirt while rushing for 72 yards, and Ross Kelley caught four passes for 62 yards and a score.

Defensively, W.F. West allowed just one completion on 11 attempts, and it was a two-yard touchdown in the final minutes. The Bobcats were able to have some success on the ground, tallying over 140 yards, but it was so few and far between that it couldn’t keep them close.

W.F. West (5-0, 2-0 2A EvCo) will host 4A Battle Ground in its non-league finale next week in preparation for the Swamp Cup on Oct. 18 and a matchup with Tumwater on Oct. 25.
