It’s been over two weeks since the W.F. West High School boys basketball team played a game and the rust couldn’t be overcome in a 48-41 loss to Cedarcrest on Saturday afternoon in Chehalis.
The Bearcats were in a nip-and-tuck battle all 32 minutes, but never won a quarter. They were led by 14 points from forward Hank Schwarz and 11 from Hayden Rooney. Schwarz grabbed 12 rebounds and eight were on the offensive glass.
W.F. West (3-6) were done-in by 23 turnovers and just three made trifectas in 16 attempts. The Bearcats now turn their attention to Evergreen Conference play, starting on Tuesday against Tumwater.
