Bearcats Poor Shooting Leads to Loss At Capital

Having a hard time getting the ball in the hoop all night, the W.F. West boys basketball team dropped its second game of the season, 54-45, to Capital Friday night at home.

The Bearcats (1-2), playing their third game this week, fell behind early, but rallied in the second quarter to tie it up at the halftime break. After seemingly fixing their shooting struggles in the second quarter, those issues reappeared in the second half, as the Bearcats shot 30.4% from the field as a team for the game.

The three-point shot was friendlier to W.F. West, as the Bearcats knocked down seven, but it wasn’t enough to upend the Cougars Friday night.

The Bearcats get a short break before starting league play against Shelton on Wednesday.
