It’s three games and three wins for the W.F. West girls soccer team, which defeated Elma 3-0 on the road on Thursday.
Wyatt Rogerson opened the scoring for the Bearcats in the 23rd minute, and Izzy Teeter added a pair of goals just four minutes apart early in the second half to break the game open.
“She’s active, plays hard, and has a good understanding of how we play,” W.F. West coach Kevin Schultz said of Teeter. “She has the nose for the goal.”
Teeter’s first goal came off an assist from Ashlen Gruginski, a duo that Schultz called a “natural pairing.”
“They’ve played with each other in the past and think through the game similarly,” Schultz said.
All three of the Bearcats’ (3-0) wins have come on the road, and they’ll head to Vancouver for one more road game on Wednesday against Evergreen before hosting Rochester in their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
“Our first half through league is on the road,” Schultz said. “It’s about getting comfortable on the road. Three of the four being on turf, that is important to us. It’s definitely a challenge, but we were happy to accept.”
