Beavers blown out by Seton Catholic in crossover

Little went right from the start for the Tenino football team in Vancouver on Friday, as the Beavers fell 51-7 to Seton Catholic in a 1A district crossover game to end their season.

Tenino turned the ball over five times, throwing three interceptions in the second quarter and also losing a pair of fumbles on a rainy night in Clark County.

The Cougars, hosting their first home postseason game in school history, jumped out to a 21-0 lead after a quarter of play and led 31-0 at halftime.

The gap got up to 51-0 in the fourth quarter with the clock running, before Cody Strawn scored Tenino’s lone touchdown on a 32-yard run.

Outside of that score, though, the Beavers managed just 3.8 yards per carry on the ground, and only had 34 yards total through the air.

Tenino finishes its season at 2-8 in Darren Tinnerstet’s first year in charge, and will graduate seven seniors: Strawn, Ethan Haigler, Nolan Watson, Lucas Watterson, Joseph Bergin, Jake Noll and Chase Cushing.
