Beavers continue slide in league setback

Tenino dropped its ninth consecutive game on Thursday night as defensive blunders proved costly in a 12-2, five-inning setback at the hands of Montesano on the road.

Of the runs given up by Beavers starter Chloe Grayless, just two of them were earned. They succumbed to seven errors as the Bulldogs jumped out in front with three runs in the bottom of the first inning and five more in the second.

Tenino (2-13, 0-6 Evergreen) got two of those runs back in the third on a Sophia Hussey RBI single and Tamara Snodderly stealing home. Hussey finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and a stolen base for the Beavers.

Tenino will return to Montesano to play a weekend tournament on Saturday before a league contest at home against Hoquiam on Monday.
