Beavers Drop Contest at Home to Cougars

Falling behind in an early hole, the Tenino girls soccer team couldn’t produce enough offense, or luck, and fell to Seton Catholic Tuesday, 4-1.

It was just one of those games for the Beavers.

“We really settled down after that second goal,” Beavs coach Dave Montgomery said. “It really stunk to give up two goals but they played really hard. Our defense didn’t look that bad, but the soccer gods didn’t seem to be smiling on us today.

A couple of balls got through where normally we’d be standing. When we wanted to get balls to our forwards, there was a Seton Catholic toe to knock it one way or the other. Sometimes that's how soccer goes.”

Kami Oliveira knocked in the Beavers lone goal in the 62nd minute on a gorgeous free kick from 25 yards away that curled just into the corner away from the keeper after Cheyenne Rossow drew a foul 10 yards outside of the 18.

The Beavers will look to rebound against Toledo on the road Thursday.
