The Tenino boys basketball team got back into the win column Wednesday on the road, beating Hoquiam 60-54 in 1A Evergreen play.

The Beavers (10-4, 5-1 1A Evergreen) pulled a 26-20 halftime advantage into a 17-point lead late in the third, but the Grizzlies came back to cut things down to four in the fourth before Tenino got things back under control to seal the win.

Noah Schow had 29 points to lead all scorers, going 9 for 17 from the field and 8 for 9 from the line, and also dished out four assists.

Austin Gonia and Jack Burkhardt both posted double-doubles, with the former scoring 10 points and leading the team with 13 rebounds and the ladder logging 10 points, 11 boards and three blocks.

Jaxson Gore added seven big points in the third quarter when Hoquiam focused just about its entire defense on stopping those three, hitting two two-pointers and a three in the span of a few minutes to open things back up.

Tenino will be back at home for its penultimate regular-season matchup Friday against Eatonville.
