Beavers’ Offense Dammed Up By Cougars

Tenino found a long bus ride to Vancouver worked against them in a 70-43 blowout loss to District 4 foe Seton Catholic in non-league play on Wednesday.

“We weren’t ready,” Tenino coach Joe Chirhart said. “We got off the bus flat and we couldn’t ever really get it going. We’d go on a run then turnover, turnover, turnover. We just didn’t come ready to play.”

While the Beavers’ offense stalled, the Cougars lit up the scoreboard with an efficient 55% shooting from the field.

“We shot ourselves in the foot and (Seton Catholic) played hard,” Chirhart said. “We couldn’t stop anybody.”

The Beavers were led by Takari Hickle’s team-high 17 points, while Austin Gonia chipped in 10.

Tenino (4-2) hosts Division 4 opponent Castle Rock in a non-league game on Friday.
