In its 17th consecutive loss, the Tenino softball team was run-ruled by Eatonville in four innings, 10-0, Monday afternoon on the road.

The Beavers managed just two hits and committed four errors in the loss, again getting held off the scorecard. Senior pitcher Emily Baxter went all four innings, allowing 10 runs with eight of them earned on nine hits and five walks. Baxter also recorded seven strikeouts.

“She didn’t hit her spots as well as she has been today,” Beavers coach Chris Johnson said. “But she’s been dealing with some injuries and has hung in tough all year.”

At the plate, Abby Severse (1 for 3) and Baxter (1 for 1) recorded the Beavers lone hits. Johnson also said Grace Vestal had a strong game at third base, defensively.

“Abby played really well,” Johnson said. “She’s been one of our most consistent players all season.”

The Beavers take on Montesano on Friday in their final league game of the season, and will play Timberline in their season finale on Saturday, both at 4 p.m.
