The Tenino High School volleyball team swept Rochester for the second time this month with a senior night victory Thursday night 25-20, 25-17, 25-17.
Tenino celebrated seniors Jaeleen Woodward, Kaedance Bowe and Taylor Sturgill. Woodward enjoyed a strong night in her final home game with eight digs, three aces and 16-18 from the service line.
“It was a great night for our seniors,” Tenino head coach Shauna Carpenter said.
Sequoia Zimmer logged 17 assists, seven digs, one ace and 10-12 on serves. Katen Burkhardt did a little bit of everything with 15 kills, 12 digs, one block, one assist and one ace.
Tenino finishes the regular season with a 9-8 record and a 5-3 mark in the Evergreen League. The Beavers could use some help from the Warriors on Oct. 28 as Rochester hosts Hoquiam. A Rochester win would secure a second-place finish for Tenino in the league and a fourth seed in the District 4 1A tournament.
Rochester sits in fourth in the league at 4-11 overall and 2-5 in league play, appearing locked for a pigtail contest against either Castle Rock or Columbia (White Salmon) to get into the District 4 1A tournament on Nov. 1.
