Black Hills girls placed fourth at Viking Girls Invitational

The Black Hills girls wrestling team had a strong performance in Puyallup on Saturday, as the Wolves finished fourth among 19 teams at the Viking Girls Invitational.

Sloane Kruger won all four of her matches to win at 100, while Izzy Steinebach (155) and Madeline Payne (170) finished second in their brackets.

Nancy Nguyen (115) and Averie Reynolds (125) both went 4-2 to place fourth in their brackets, while Isabelle Chernard (190) placed fifth and Wren Neklason (130) finished sixth.

Rainier (8th), Centralia (9th), and Tenino (11th) were also in Puyallup on Saturday.

Kiera Anderson was the Mountaineers’ lone victory at 170, while Chloe Willis (190) finished second and Ryleigh Cruse (235) placed third. 



Dakota Gardner (110) bounced back from a loss in her first match by winning three straight and finishing fourth.

Centralia’s Eva Reinitz earned a victory at 115, while Luna Martinez-Arevalo and Jocelyn Navarro placed second and fourth at 100.

Jayden Krogness (130) and Arisbeth Rojas-Ramirez (105) both finished fourth, and Jazmin Castorena (105) placed fifth.

Tenino’s Ynavi Rodriguez won at 190, while Nataliah Chacon (125) placed second and Maleah Chacon (120) finished fourth.
