Blazers walloped against Titans

What began as a perfect start turned into a catastrophe as the Centralia College men’s soccer team was on the wrong end of a one-sided affair, losing to Lane Community College 9-3 on Wednesday night.

CC’s Tristin Evans gave the Trailblazers an early 1-0 lead with his first goal of the season at the 9 minute, 59 second mark of the first half. That lead didn’t last long as the Titans struck an equalizer quickly and proceeded to score seven straight goals.

Mario Silva Gutierre ended the bleeding in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal. Brady Mitchell found the back of the net in the 77th minute for CC. Damian Hernandez notched an assist as the Trailblazers had five of their eight shots on frame.

Rico Ewell registered three saves. CC is now 0-4-2 and all four setbacks have spanned over a week. Its next match is on Saturday against Portland at home before six of its next seven contests are on the road.
