The Boistfort Lions Club’s Dec. 3 Walk N Knock event proved to be a great success in helping the Pe Ell Food Bank, according to an announcement from the group.

“Our neighbors and friends in Boistfort Valley contributed 2,000 pounds of food items and $1,770 in cash that will be appreciated by those in need. The generosity of the people in our community is just one of many attributes making the Boistfort Valley a wonderful place to live and raise a family,” said Larry Blatt, a member of the Boistfort Lions Club.

The Lions stated they want to thank everyone for their donations and support for the annual food drive.

In the past three years, the Boistfort Lions’ Walk N Knock has raised 6,100 pounds of food and $5,400 in cash from the community to help the less fortunate.

Every year, the youth of the Boistfort Valley help by traveling with Lions Club members to help collect donations from homes. The nine students who assisted in this year’s Walk N Knock were “courteous, respectful and friendly” when knocking on doors, according to the club.

“A huge part of the drive’s success belongs to these nine students. The Boistfort Lions is grateful for everyone’s participation in their Walk N Knock,” the Lions stated.
