The Boistfort School District and the Onalaska School District were passing their respective replacement levies at 75.44% and 54.59%, as of election day, according to Washington state’s official voter information portal, votewa.gov.
The districts need a total of 50% plus one vote to pass their levies.
Boistfort’s levy would tax property owners an estimated $0.87 per $1,000 of assessed value in both 2027 and 2028. So far, 172 voters have said yes to the levy, while 56 have said no.
Onalaska’s levy would tax property owners an estimated $0.95 per $1,000 of assessed value in each year from 2027 through 2030. As it stands, 922 voters have said yes to the levy, while 767 have said no.
As of Wednesday morning, there were 563 countywide ballots left to process from the drop boxes and the mail, according to Lewis County Elections Manager Jolene Manuel. Those ballots had not yet been “signature checked,” Manuel said.
Any additional votes will come from mailed ballots that arrive later but were still postmarked by Feb. 10.
Though the count was not complete, many of the remaining ballots were expected to apply to the Centralia School District’s proposed replacement levy, which was failing as of election day.
The next voter turnout update was expected by Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 5 p.m. Look for updates at https://results.votewa.gov/results/public/lewis-county-wa/elections/20260210.
