The Historic Borst Home Museum in Centralia will host its monthly open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.

The theme and presentation is “Celebrating our freedom.”

“It has been nearly 250 years since the founders signed the Declaration of Independence that would change the course of history,” organizers wrote in a news release. “They put their lives, honor and prosperity on the line that day. The cost of that decision was high, as it continues to be to hold onto our freedoms even today. How should we celebrate and what was their vision for us down through the ages? Our guest speaker has insights into what it has cost, what it continues to cost and how we as citizens of this remarkable experiment may continue it for future generations.”

The speaker’s presentation will begin at 2 p.m. Admission is free. The museum is located in Fort Borst Park. Learn more at https://www.cityofcentralia.com/273/Borst-Home
