Burnt Ridge Nursery adds third date for popular farm tours

Posted

Due to popular demand, Burnt Ridge Nursery has added a third date for its farm and nursery tours in 2024.

Two tours will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Burnt Ridge founder and co-owner Michael Dolan will lead each tour of the 20-acre farm and nursery focusing on diverse fruit and nut crops that can be grown organically in Western Washington, including blueberries, figs, mulberries, kiwis, hazelnuts and chestnuts.

Sample plates of fresh, seasonal fruits will be provided along with chef-prepared treats to highlight the unique flavors at their peak ripeness.

Certified organic fresh fruit, jam and applesauce, live plants and more will be available for purchase after the tour. Dolan and other knowledgeable nursery staff will be available to answer questions.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. They cost $15 each, $35 for a party of three and $40 for a party of four. Tickets and more information are available at https://www.burntridgenursery.com/Farm-Tours/products/165/ or by calling 360-985-2873.

Due to the sloping and rugged ground on this working farm, the tour is not suitable for strollers or those with limited mobility.

Burnt Ridge Nursery is a family run orchard and nursery in Onalaska that has been in business since 1980. Specializing in rare, unique and disease-resistant trees, vines and shrubs that produce edible fruits or nuts, the nursery also offers Pacific Northwest native plants, ornamentals and useful landscape trees. Certified organic produce is available seasonally, along with jam, applesauce, fruit wines, hard cider and other products from our farm-based commercial kitchen.
