The Winlock boys basketball team hung with Wahkiakum for a half, but couldn’t keep up the whole night Thursday, in a 81-46 loss.
Freddy Patching led the Cardinals (1-3, 0-2 C2BL) with 18 points, and James Cusson added 11.
Wahkiakum’s Zakk Carlson scored 27 of the Mules’ 30 points in the first half, and finished with 36 on the game. His teammates showed up coming out of the locker room, hitting 10 3-pointers in the third quarter to turn a 30-22 game into 62-36 in a matter of eight minutes.
Winlock will play at Onalaska next Tuesday.
