Three Winlock players scored in double digits and the Cardinals hammered Class 1A Castle Rock for a 70-33 road victory on Tuesday.

Senior Addison Hall pumped in a game-high 22 points, while junior Charlie Carper and sophomore Kindyl Kelly each scored 18 for the Cardinals.

Carper had a double-double with 10 rebounds, while Madison Vigre added nine boards and Angie Gil had seven. The Cardinals outrebounded the Rockets 44-31.

“We had a great game after the first quarter,” Winlock coach Dracy McCoy said. “Started off slow but made some defensive adjustments, which helped us out.”

The Cardinals swiped 22 steals, which led to some easy transition buckets. They also moved the ball well, totalling 19 assists on the night. Hall led the team with six assists while Vigre dished out five assists and tallied six steals.

“Great assists by everyone,” McCoy said. “Everyone was sharing the ball.”

The Cardinals shot 40% (23 for 57) from the field, including a red-hot 5 of 10 from beyond the arc.

Winlock (2-0) hosts Kalama on Wednesday.
