The Centralia College softball team picked up a series win over the weekend, taking three of four games in two doubleheaders against Clark.
The Trailblazers took both ends of Friday’s doubleheaders 9-6 and 17-3, before splitting Saturday’s twin bill. Clark won the first game Saturday 8-5, but CC secured the series win with a 3-2 victory.
The Trailblazers didn’t need long to get the bats going on Friday, as they scored four runs in the first inning and two in the second to build a 6-2 lead.
Three insurance runs across the sixth and seventh put them up 9-3, and Clark’s seventh inning rally fell short.
Natalie Loose hit a triple and a double as part of a four-hit day, and she drove in two runs, and Lena Fragner and Makayla Chavez both picked up a pair of hits, including a triple for Chavez.
Ava Hernandez pitched all seven innings, giving up eight hits and six runs (four earned) while walking one and striking out four.
The bats continued to roll in Game 2, where CC scored three in the first and ten in the second to go up 13-0.
Loose had another three hits, including another triple and double, and drove in four runs, while Gracie Schofield hit a solo home run. Macey Fleutsch also drove in four runs as part of a 3 for 4 day, and Chavez drove in two runs.
In five innings of work in the circle, Emma Hoffmeister allowed three hits and three earned runs while walking four and striking out seven.
Stats from Saturday’s games were not available.
CC (10-8, 5-7 NWAC) will head to Grays Harbor for a doubleheader on Friday before hosting LCC in a doubleheader on Saturday morning.
