The Tigers remained unbeaten on the young season thanks to a pair of goals from Damian Corona to clip the Lumberjacks 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium in their home opener.
Corona’s second goal came on a penalty kick in the 70th minute to break a 1-1 tie. Centralia (2-0) withstood the R.A. Long offense for the final 10 minutes in regulation. It’s already outscored two district foes by three total goals.
In the 25th minute, Corona put the Tigers in front and R.A. Long answered in the second half with a goal in the 55th minute. Centralia will look to move to 3-0 on Monday when it battles Clover Park on the road.
